I was a journalist for Long Island University’s “The Tide” Newspaper where I wrote articles on a biweekly basis for the Arts and Entertainment section. This allowed me to polish my writing and interviewing skills while creating connections with other students on campus. Below are my published articles.

Taylor Swift kicked off her much anticipated “Eras Tour” on Friday, March 17 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This is Swift’s first return to the stage in five years with a three hour concert and a 44 song setlist. Swift made sure she carefully honored each era of her career by not only singing old songs but also costumes, set designs and overall feel of each time period. CONT.

On March 26, officials in Miami Beach declared a state of emergency as massive crowds of spring breakers descended on the Florida city causing chaos, including the shooting deaths of two people. CONT.

“Outer Banks” made its return to Netflix on Feb. 18 with season three. This came with an announcement that the show was renewed for a fourth season. CONT.

Sunday, Feb. 5, was the 65th annual Grammys award ceremony. It’s one of music’s biggest nights. Many records were broken at the ceremony. CONT.

Justin Roiland was the co-creator of the hit cartoon show, Rick and Morty. The show premiered in 2013 and is now considered one of the best animated shows on television according to IMDb. CONT.

Selena Gomez debuted her documentary, “My Mind & Me” on Friday, Nov. 4. She gave viewers a close look into her life the past six years. She discussed her struggles with lupus, mental illness, and stardom. CONT.

Drake and 21 Savage released a music video for their song, “Jimmy Crooks.” The video ends with a scene of the two artists announcing their upcoming album together, “Her Loss.” CONT.

“Don’t Worry Darling,” the new psychological thriller directed by Olivia Wilde was released on Sept. 23, 2022. CONT.

The Broadway production of “Funny Girl” first opened its doors at the Winter Garden Theater on March 26, 1964. The musical, starring Barbra Streisand as Fanny Brice, played 1,348 shows until it closed on July 1, 1967. CONT.

Queen Elizabeth II peacefully passed away in her sleep at her Scottish estate on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022. CONT.

On Tuesday, April 12, a man attacked the N subway train in Brooklyn. He set off smoke grenades and opened fire, leaving 23 people injured. He was disguised as a construction worker and turned the subway car into a bloodbath. CONT.

We all know and love the british boy band who melted our hearts on the X-factor back in 2010. Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson started their X-factor careers as solo contestants but failed to make it through to the live shows individually, and so Simon Cowell put them in a group together and they were able to finish 3rd in the singing competition and Cowell signed them to his Syco Records. The new Marvel movie “Morbius,” hit the big screen on April 1, 2022. “Morbius” is seemingly a Spider-Man spin-off, but fans are very disappointed in how it turned out. CONT.

The 94th annual Oscars Awards ceremony was held on Sunday March 27, and it was a night no one will ever forget. The ceremony was hosted by Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. CONT.

Three years since he last released music, British singer-songwriter Rex Orange County released his new album’s lead single “Keep It Up” alongside a fun dance music video that takes place in Amsterdam on Jan.26. CONT.

After two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Coachella Valley Music and Art festival has confirmed they will be returning to the Empire Polo Club in Indio California. CONT.
